How to Participate in Global Climate Literacy Competition

Who can participate in the Global Climate Literacy Competitions?

The competition is open to all secondary schools worldwide, focusing on students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 (ages 11 to 14)

How much does it cost for schools to participate?

Participation for the first competition – Climate Change – is completely free for schools.

How do we register our school?

Simply visit our registration page at globalclimateliteracy.org to sign up your school. You will receive a voucher code to share with your students.

How long does each competition last?

Each competition phase lasts approximately 6 weeks for the Online Challenges and a one-time virtual event for the Live Finale.

What kind of technology or devices are required?

Students can access the games on any device with internet access, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

Can individual students participate?

Yes! Individual students are welcome to join the competition by using the voucher code ‘0000’ to register as an Independent Participant. Contact info@greenguardians.com if any assistance is needed.

Can students use an alias name?

Yes, students are encouraged to register with an alias for privacy purposes. Schools are also advised to maintain students’ real identities securely behind aliases.

How is student performance tracked?

Schools will have access to a leaderboard, where teachers can monitor the progress and performance of their students throughout the competition.

Can this competition be part of our school’s curriculum?

Yes! The competition is designed to complement environmental education and can easily be integrated into your school’s extra-curricular or climate education programmes.

What topics are covered in the competitions?

Students will learn about Climate Science, Biodiversity, Climate Resilience, and Circular Economies through engaging, bite-sized games.

What are the prizes for students?​

Students will receive digital certificates based on their progress in the competition. Top-performing students in the Global Climate Literacy Grand Finale will win exciting prizes, including eco-experiences and other rewards.

What are the prizes for schools?​

Schools will compete based on aggregated scores of all participating students and win awards.

How long does each competition last? ​
